Scottish Wood Hardwood Sawmill and Timber-shop

Updated: Apr 1

Who are we and what do we supply?

Scottish wood Hardwood Sawmill and Timber-shop is an innovative project, born from extensive and ongoing research into the woodland culture in Scotland.

Until the early 2000s Scottish hardwoods were not utilised to their potential and viewed as almost worthless with the majority of timber processed and imported from Europe.

Scottish Wood was Founded in 2000 establishing a sustainable approach with a community owned business - forming a locally based social enterprise and the trading arm of Dynamic woods, a Scottish charity. Supplying locally sourced Scottish timber from sustainable sources, with the hope to revitalise the local woodland culture for the benefit of the community, economy and environment with funds raised through the sale of our timber being reinvested back into local community projects, reinvestment back into our yard and training opportunities as well as support for those working with wood and looking to improve our woodland culture. More info can be found here - www.scottishwood.co.uk/dynamic-woods
