Jim founded Scottish Wood nearly 30 years ago and has dedicated his time, experience, and expertise to its growth ever since. He remains hands-on in the business — working in the yard, assisting with orders, responding to enquiries, and travelling across Scotland to source sustainably harvested logs. His commitment to quality timber and exceptional service continues to shape the strong team around him.

Danny is your first point of contact in the office, handling enquiries, quotes, and orders with efficiency and care. If he's not at his desk, you’ll find him out and about in the yard, overseeing operations, fixing machinery, and ensuring everything is running smoothly!

Jo looks after our admin and accounting – her role helps support the growth, efficiency, and smooth operations of Scottish Wood. Jo also cares for the connection and management of the business’ mother charity, Dynamic Woods, and ensures that our activity and outgoings continue to align with the values of the charity.

Hamish works our sawmill yard, processing orders to customer specifications. From planing timber and profiling, to edging and cross-cutting, he ensures all timber meets our quality standards. He also operates and maintains our firewood processor, keeping production running efficiently.

Ros manages our timber shop and online store, providing assistance to customers both in-store and online. In addition to handling day-to-day shop operations and customer interactions, Ros oversees our online sales, processes orders, and manages our social media - if you're chatting to us online, it's likely Ros that you're speaking to.

Gary can be found in our workshop, handling equipment maintenance to keep everything in top condition. He also supports yard processing and orders and serves as our primary delivery driver, ensuring that orders reach our customers safely and on time.

Eddie is responsible for milling our logs for both stock and customer orders. With great skill and attention to detail, he operates our Woodmizer sawmill, ensuring each log is processed to the highest standards. Eddie plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of timber through our operation.

John is our go-to handyman, always ready to lend a hand wherever it's needed across the yard. From maintenance and organising, to tackling tasks big and small, he also takes charge of splitting and bagging our firewood, making sure it's ready for customers to enjoy.

Liam spends a lot of time reviewing and developing our systems and efficiencies – making investigations into ways that we can enhance the work we do at Scottish Wood. Besides that, Liam is normally busy with production, undertaking the set-up and machining that ensures orders are completed in good time and to a high standard.

Drew works a variety of different machining processes in the yard, sometimes milling but most often processing timber in the machinery shed. Drew processes most of the timber sold in our shop – selecting rough sawn stock and turning it into the beautiful boards we sell in the timber shop.
