This will require some walking along the road from Oakley. If it's going to be dark, make sure you can be seen by traffic.
First, you'll need to make your way into Oakley by Stagecoach bus. Then, walk the rest following these directions:
Walking from Oakley
Around a 20 minute walk, depending on your pace and how often you stop to look at birds- Make your way into Oakley by Stagecoach bus.
- If you’re on buses 4, 4A, 4B, 4C or 28, get off at the Primary School. Then follow directions from step 4 onwards.
- If you’re on buses 6A or X22, get off opposite Blairwood Cottages or Blairwood Park, whichever is relevant. Walk a few meters towards Carnock (to the east), then turn right into Station Road.
- Walk downhill along Station Road until you leave Oakley and pass under a bridge. Then, turn left onto Sunnyside Road. On Sunnyside Road there is no pavement for pedestrians, please take care whilst walking a short way along the side of the road (about 100 m).
- After turning onto Sunnyside Road, you’ll see a right turn into the woodland, sign posted for Scottish Wood.
- Walk up the woodland drive (watching out for red squirrels!), at the top of the hill, turn left and continue uphill on the Scottish Wood drive.
- At the top of this drive, you should find yourself outside the Timber Shop.
